What is foliage?
It is the natural spectacle of the leaves of the trees that in autumn, before breaking away from the branches, change their color from the green of summer to the warm shades of yellow, ocher, up to red and brown. A transformation that occurs gradually and not in the same way for all the trees and which colors the landscapes with wonderful colors that tempt you to go out into the woods to admire and photograph an unparalleled spectacle.

Gola del Furlo, included in the territory of the Municipalities of Acqualagna, Cagli, Fermignano, Fossombrone and Urbino, is an authentic paradise, crossed by the Candigliano river which winds its way between the imposing rocky walls of the Gola, where the suggestion of the landscape is combined with a prodigious naturalistic wealth.
We will start along the Strada Flaminia, the road that crosses the gorge and from here we will be able to admire the suggestion of the canyon, the river and the typical forest characterized by the scotano, the Ornament and the poplars with their yellow, red and orange shades that alternate green of holm oaks

We will then continue to Frontino, the smallest village in the province of Pesaro Urbino, at the foot of Monte Carpegna. Its streets, squares are paved with pebbles, flowers and plants along the terraced houses, everything is neat and welcoming. It will be its fourteenth-century tower with clock that will attract our eyes, all covered with leaves that turn red in autumn.

In the heart of Montefeltro, in the northernmost area of ​​the Umbrian-Marche Apennines, we find the Sasso Simone and Simoncello Regional Natural Park dotted with villages and historic centers. We will head towards the Pianacquadio wood, a natural jewel in the heart of Montefeltro. It is a unique example in central Italy consisting not only of centuries-old beeches but also of specimens of sycamore maple, curly maple, Neapolitan maple, field maple, lime and mountain ash. Here we will admire ancient and mammoth trees.
